Robert Murphy

Robert Murphy is a Senior Data Engineer at Expana, where they lead the transformation of enterprise-wide data ingestion by designing and implementing scalable platforms using Apache Airflow and Azure AKS. Previously, they served as a PhD student at the University of Copenhagen, focusing on microbial symbiont contributions to termite health and disease, during which they managed research projects and developed bioinformatics tools. They also gained experience as an International Researcher and held roles as a Postgraduate and Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Birmingham, where they worked on genomic data analysis and HPV gene expression research. Robert earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Bioinformatics from Københavns Universitet.
