Tom Kao

Tom Kao is an entrepreneurial technology executive with over 30 years of experience in corporate strategy. They served as Vice President of Corporate Strategies at MediaTek USA Inc. from 2014 to 2024, focusing on corporate strategy development including M&A, investments, partnerships, and organic growth. Currently, Tom is actively involved as a Governing Board Member of RISE, a consortium for the RISC-V ecosystem, and as a Board Observer at People Power Company, providing smart-home solutions for elderly care. They also hold advisory roles at Expedera and TurboNext.ai and previously held key positions at various technology companies, including ZettaCom and Silicon Motion. Tom earned a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Santa Clara University and a Bachelor's degree in the same field from the University of California, Berkeley.
