Ben Brigida

Ben Brigida has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Ben started their career as a Graduate Lab Instructor for Mammalogy 445L at Christopher Newport University, where they gained experience teaching and leading dissections. Ben then worked as an intern in the NASA DEVELOP program, working on ecological forecasting in Rwanda and Great Lakes disasters. During this time, they developed skills in ArcGIS and Python programming.

Afterwards, Brigida worked as a Wildlife Biologist and Field Supervisor at Holistic Wildlife Services LLC, where they conducted surveys and mitigation plans for abandoned mines and energy companies. Ben personally surveyed over 1,000 abandoned mines without incident.

Brigida then transitioned to the cybersecurity industry, working at FireEye, Inc. as a Security Analyst and later as a Senior Security Analyst. Ben'sroles focused on finding and solving security threats. Currently, they are working at Expel as the Director of Security Operations, where they oversee the company's security operations.

Ben Brigida received their Master's degree in Environmental Science from Christopher Newport University from 2011 to 2014. Prior to that, from 2005 to 2010, they earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the same institution.
