Bryan Young has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Bryan currently serves as the Bassoon Faculty at The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, where they empower the next generation of musicians. Additionally, they are the Chair of the Board of Directors at Chamber Music America, advocating for sustainable careers for musicians and promoting small ensemble music.
Previously, Bryan has worked as a Principal Software Engineer at Expel, applying their cybersecurity expertise to help the company provide industry-leading security solutions. Bryan has also been a Member of the Board of Directors at Boulanger Initiative, supporting women and gender marginalized composers by leading the launch of a comprehensive database of compositions.
Bryan's music career includes being the Founder and Bassoonist of The Poulenc Trio, a highly acclaimed piano-wind chamber music ensemble. Furthermore, they have served as the Principal Bassoonist of the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, collaborating with world-class musicians and participating in special projects honoring prominent wind instrumentalists.
In the healthcare technology field, Bryan worked as the Group Leader of Advanced Health Analytics and Artificial Intelligence at MITRE, where they led innovative projects in healthcare data analytics and privacy-preserving analysis. Bryan also served as the Director of Connected Healthcare Solutions at Asymmetrik, contributing to national security and healthcare.
Earlier in their career, Bryan co-founded JobJybe and served as the Chief Technology Officer, overseeing the development and successful launch of an Uber-equivalent platform for enterprise customers in various industries.

Bryan Young studied Music at Yale University from 1997 to 1998. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music from The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, where they studied from 1991 to 1996.
