Dan Shafer

Dan Shafer, CISA, currently serves as the Director of Information Security at Experity, a role held since May 2019 following the merger of DocuTAP and Practice Velocity. Prior to this, Dan was the Manager of Information Security Policy and Audit at DocuTAP, overseeing the implementation of security management plans and HIPAA compliance. With extensive experience in information technology and security management, Dan held positions including Information Security Manager at DocuTAP, IT Manager at Dakota Security Systems, and Director of Information Technology at CAPITAL Card Services, where significant contributions were made towards strategic planning, risk management, and achieving industry certifications. Additional roles include Systems Administrator at USGS Eros Data Center and Senior Systems Administrator at Norwest Student Loans, showcasing a strong foundation in technical direction and security across diverse organizations. Dan holds an Associate of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Southeast Tech and has a history of military service as a Munitions Inspector in the United States Air Force.
