Senior Lead - Learning And Development at Explora Journeys

Roel Andag has extensive work experience in various roles and industries.

In 2022, they joined Explora Journeys as the Traveling People Experience Lead. Prior to this, they worked at Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. from 2016 to 2022 as a Learning and Development Consultant.

From 2008 to 2010, Roel worked as a Program Coordinator at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). In this role, they were responsible for strategic planning, program management, public/government/stakeholder/media relations, social and policy analysis, advocacy, and budget management.

Prior to that, they worked at SCHERING PHILIPPINES CORPORATION from 2005 to 2007 as a Program and Communications Manager, where they managed programs, handled public/stakeholder/media relations, produced IEC materials, and organized events.

From 1999 to 2005, Roel held the position of Program Director for Advocacy, Research, and Communications at Caritas Filipinas. Roel was involved in strategic planning, program management, proposal and speech writing, press release writing, public/government/stakeholder/media/donor relations, social and policy analysis, team management, and campaigns management.

Roel also had other full-time employments prior to 1999, where they worked as an Information Officer and Researcher-Writer at CBCP-Caritas Filipinas.

Overall, Roel Andag has a diverse background in training, development, program management, communications, and advocacy.

Roel Andag obtained their Master of Public Administration degree in Policy Studies from the University of the Philippines Diliman, where they studied from 1999 to 2004. In addition to their formal education, they have also obtained several certifications. Roel obtained a certification as a Train the Trainer from EHL in April 2023. In January 2020, they received a certification as a Mind Gym Coach from Mind Gym. Roel also holds a certification as a Certified Hospitality Trainer (CHT) from the AHLEI - American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute, which they obtained in November 2015. Lastly, Roel has an additional certification in Oz Accountability from Partners in Leadership, but the specific month and year of obtaining it are unknown.
