Heather Kellert comes to Explorer At Large through our Instructional Unit Design Partner, the PAST Foundation. At PAST and at XAL, Heather's versatile background in education helps her contribute a variety of skills and assets. Through her research and work at The Ohio State University, Heather holds a strong appreciation for teaching philosophies such as Complex and Cognitively Guided Instruction and Trans-disciplinary Problem-Based Learning (PBL).
Heather’s previous experience teaching in a diverse, urban environment has provided her with a strong interest in social justice and accessible education for all, which she incorporates into her current work as a STEM Innovator. Her participation in co-authoring a digital geometry textbook has propelled her passions toward the use of virtual technology and serious educational gaming as a medium for teaching and learning.
