Derrick Murekezi is a geophysicist currently serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology since 2019 and as the Founding Geophysicist at ExploreTech since 2025. Murekezi earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology/Earth Science from the University of Rochester in 2019 and is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Geophysics and Seismology at Georgia Institute of Technology, expected to conclude in 2024. Additionally, Murekezi holds a Certificate in Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and College Preparation from the Bridge2Rwanda Scholars Program and completed high school with a focus on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at Lycee de Kigali.
