Heidi Orde Stender

Heidi Orde Stender has a comprehensive work experience in various roles. Heidi is currently employed at Exponent as a Senior Legal Counsel, responsible for analyzing, reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of agreements. Their role involves providing timely legal advice to practice areas within the company, representing approximately $100 million in annual revenue. Heidi also balances commercial, regulatory, and business concerns while considering the company's risk tolerance. Prior to Exponent, Heidi worked at Milliman as a Contract In-House Counsel, where they investigated and assessed business and legal risks of potential contracts for corporate clients worldwide. Heidi also reviewed and tested new contract management tools. Before that, they co-founded Orasella, a small business in a highly regulated industry, and played a key role in its growth and success. As the Founder and Counsel, Heidi handled various responsibilities including business formation, regulatory compliance, and contract drafting and negotiation. Heidi was also involved in product development, from initial design to overhauling products to reduce regulatory burdens. Earlier in their career, Heidi worked at Tectura as a Certification System Specialist and Aerospace Systems Engineer, where they coordinated with regulators, suppliers, and internal teams to implement new FAA orders and supported the development of new airplane programs. Heidi also worked at the City of Seattle, Office of the Mayor, as a Legal Policy Intern, researching legal and policy issues relevant to city government. Heidi's experience also includes working at Scitor Corporation as an Aerospace Systems Engineer, where they developed training modules, assisted in software development, and piloted virtual communication tools for government space launch operations.

Heidi Orde Stender obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, which they attended from 1995 to 1999. Later, from 2003 to 2006, they pursued their Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, at the Seattle University School of Law.
