Scott Schroeder has extensive work experience in mechanical engineering and research. Scott started their career at Rockwell Scientific Company in 1989, where they worked as a Member of Technical Staff. During their time there, they focused on research areas such as powder metallurgy, rapid prototyping, and structural mechanics. Scott also specialized in the mechanics of electronic packaging, metallic and ceramic composites, and creep-fatigue interactions. In 2004, Schroeder joined Exponent, where they currently hold the position of Senior Managing Engineer. Overall, their expertise lies in mechanical engineering and they have a strong background in research and development.
Scott Schroeder obtained their Ph.D. in Materials from UC Santa Barbara from 1996 to 1999. Prior to that, they completed their M.S. and B.S. in Engineering Mechanics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1984 to 1989. Furthermore, they have obtained multiple certifications, including being a Registered Professional Engineer from various institutions such as the Arkansas State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors, the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board (LAPELS), and the Alabama Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors. Scott also holds certifications in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry (OSHA 511) from the US Department of Labor OSHA and in Machine Guarding (OSHA 2045) from the United States Department of Labor. Additionally, they are a Registered Professional Mechanical Engineer in several states including Washington, Wisconsin, Arizona, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Texas, Nevada, and California. Scott has also completed various professional development courses, including the ASME Pipeline Engineering: In-Line Inspection Short Course and the ASME Pipeline Engineering: Integrity Management Short Course.
