Guillermo Freire

Guillermo Freire is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in project finance, investments, and corporate finance. Currently serving as Senior Vice-President at Export Development Canada since August 2013, Guillermo leads a team specializing in arranging and structuring project finance transactions in the Power & Utilities sector globally. Prior to this role, Guillermo worked at Rio Tinto as Director of Corporate Finance for the Americas, where responsibilities included managing multibillion-dollar financing for the Oyu Tolgoi copper and gold mine in Mongolia. Earlier career experience includes various roles at Export Development Canada and positions as Commercial Manager at Corporacion Fruticola de Chincha S.A.C. and Financial Analyst at Banco de Crédito BCP. Guillermo holds an MBA from McGill University, an Advanced Management Program from INSEAD, and multiple degrees from Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina.
