John Place has extensive experience in compliance, ethics, and corporate affairs, currently serving as a director at Export Development Canada since May 2010. Previous roles at Export Development Canada include director positions in exporter services, global trade operations, and international strategy, as well as chief representative for Russia and the CIS. Prior to this, John Place practiced law at Heenan Blaikie LLP, Aird & Berlis LLP, and White & Case. John Place holds an LL.B. from the University of Victoria and a BA in Economics from Dalhousie University, and is currently pursuing Executive Education in Finance and Accounting at Columbia Business School.
