Liew Chia Wan

Liew Chia Wan is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in international trade and finance, currently serving as Chief Representative for Export Development Canada in the Philippines and Greater China since May 2008. In this role, Liew manages teams in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing, focusing on business origination and market strategy for the Greater China region, while fostering relationships with state-owned and large private enterprises to facilitate trade financing for Canada. Previous positions include Senior Account Manager at HSBC Bank, Senior Credit & Marketing Manager at DP Credit & Leasing, and Deputy/Acting Branch Manager at Sime Bank Berhad, alongside foundational roles as Head of Credit at BHL Bank. Liew holds an Honors degree in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics and Computer Information Systems from the University of Otago and has completed professional development at Harvard in 2023.
