Jarrod Shilts

R&d Lead Scientist at ExpressionEdits

Jarrod Shilts is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in biotechnology and research. As a co-founding member and Group Leader at ExpressionEdits since 2022, Jarrod has been instrumental in developing innovative methods for manufacturing recombinant proteins and transgene therapies. Previously, at the Wellcome Sanger Institute from 2017 to 2022, Jarrod invented a groundbreaking technique for measuring receptor protein interactions, significantly enhancing scale and sensitivity in the field. Jarrod also established a high-throughput pipeline for recombinant protein production, leading to the discovery of multiple novel receptor interactions. Prior roles include the SyBBURE-Searle Program Fellow at Vanderbilt University School of Engineering and a Research Assistant at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where Jarrod engaged in various interdisciplinary projects and advanced research using cutting-edge techniques like CRISPR genome editing. Academic credentials include a PhD and MPhil from the University of Cambridge and a BA from Vanderbilt University.
