Founder/CSO Elexity (formerly Extensible Energy) at Extensible Energy

John Powers has a long and varied work experience in the energy industry. John began their career in 1981 as an Economist/Analyst at Portland General Electric. In 1986, they moved to Quantum Consulting and served as Senior Vice President, managing the growth of the consulting firm from three to 140 professionals in seven years. In 1997, they founded and ran Energy Interactive, an internet software company in the electric and gas utility industry. In 2000, they were Director of Retail Markets at ABB, where they grew group revenue more than 100% in 18 months. In 2003, they founded and became CEO of Digipede Technologies, providing distributed computing software solutions. In 2010, they founded and became CSO/CEO of Extensible Energy, bringing a highly scalable load flexibility solution to market. In 2014, they became a Board Member of the Peak Load Management Alliance (#PLMAdr), an enthusiastic supporter and volunteer for the organization, and a mentor for the Cleantech Open and UC Berkeley startup programs.

John Powers received their BA in Economics from Reed College in 1981 and their MA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991.
