External Secrets Inc. -- an "open core" commercial company built around the open-source software External Secrets Operator -- created software tools to help manage non-human identity credentials.

Innovations we created included functionality to:

[1] Fully map out by actual usage (not just logs) where NHI credentials are being used in an organization

[2] Rotate NHI credentials everywhere while breaking nothing

[3] Replace risky static, single-factor credentials with one-time-use dynamic credentials

Unfortunately, we gained insufficient commercial traction and are now in wind-down mode.

Fortunately, our backer, Open Core Ventures, gave us permission to open source all the great work we've done so it can help the industry!
