Starting in 2013, they worked as a Personal Banker at State Farm®, where they handled banking responsibilities until October 2017.
In 2016, they took on roles at the University of Washington as a First-Year Interest Group (FIG) Leader and an Orientation Leader, providing guidance and support to incoming students.
Thomas continued their academic pursuits and became a Research Assistant at the University of Washington from June 2017 to November 2017.

Their responsibilities included using Figma to design consumer-facing dashboards and conducting usability tests to align user needs with business objectives. Thomas also collaborated with business analysts and project managers on designing the try-at-home feature for the e-commerce dashboard.
Currently, Thomas is a Product Designer at Extracker, starting in November 2021. As of June 2022, their current role is the Product Owner, contributing to the product development process.
Thomas Nielson obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Washington, where they studied from 2015 to 2019. In 2020, they attended General Assembly Seattle and completed the User Experience Design Immersive program. Thomas also obtained a certification in UX Foundations: Storytelling from LinkedIn in April 2021.
