Extreme Hangout is a global climate action events and media platform.
Born from a deep love of the natural world and a determination to protect it, Extreme Hangout was launched in 2020 at COP26 by Amber Nuttall and Alistair Gosling, with the support of Extreme International.

We advance climate action by designing and delivering high-impact events around the world that unite global thought leaders, policymakers, innovators and young changemakers. Our platform creates space to share best-in-class sustainability practices and, crucially, spotlight practical, actionable solutions that drive real-world change.

Alongside our live events, Extreme Hangout curates and amplifies positive sustainability stories across Extreme International’s global social media network of over 20 million followers, generating millions of views every month and extending the reach of our partners far beyond the room.

To date, we have delivered 30+ events globally, including five large-scale activations at UN Climate Conferences (COP). Across these, we have hosted 2,200+ speakers from 140 countries and engaged over 40,000 in-person visitors.

Since launching at COP26 in Glasgow, Extreme Hangout has been supported by an extraordinary community of organisations and speakers, including Bear Grylls, Lily Cole, Paul Polman, and the Prime Minister of the Bahamas. At COP27 in Egypt, Iván Duque Márquez, Former President of Colombia, described Extreme Hangout as “the most beautiful, engaging event — and maybe the coolest venue.”

In 2026, Extreme Hangout will return with its flagship annual activation at COP31 in Türkiye, delivering 10 days of curated programming and offering a range of high-impact partnership opportunities for organisations and individuals committed to accelerating climate action.
