Dimitris Kanakidis possesses extensive experience in the field of telecommunications and AI, currently serving as the Head of AI Labs, Head of Innovation, and Head of Security Research at EXUS since June 2013, where responsibilities include the coordination of national and EU-funded projects. Previously, Dimitris held the position of R&D Manager at Net Technologies from March 2007 to May 2013, focusing on WiMAX and TETRA RF planning projects, and worked as a telecom operator during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Additionally, Dimitris contributed as a telecommunications engineer at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games and was involved in research related to chaotic optical communication systems at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where teaching and supervision roles complemented academic pursuits. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Optical Communications, an MSc in Telecommunications, and a BSc in Physics, all from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
