Ashwin Raghavan is a Computational Scientist at ExxonMobil since April 2019, focusing on advanced physics modeling for next-generation reservoir simulation as part of the Upstream Research team. Prior to this role, Ashwin served as a Doctoral Researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from September 2011 to January 2019, specializing in modeling and simulation of heavy crude oil upgrading using supercritical water. Ashwin developed sophisticated Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models for complex transport phenomena and previously completed a Master's thesis on supercritical water-hydrocarbon mixing. Ashwin's experience includes a summer research internship at ExxonMobil and a research fellowship at the University of Toronto, where innovative heat exchangers were developed and tested. Ashwin holds a PhD and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
