Joel Johnson

Joel Johnson serves as the Chief Technical Counsel at ExxonMobil since April 2022, where responsibilities include leading the recruitment of experienced tax lawyers. Previously, Joel held several key positions within ExxonMobil, including General Tax Counsel for ExxonMobil Chemical Company from September 2015 to May 2022, and Tax Planning and Finance Manager from March 2012 to August 2015. Additional roles at ExxonMobil included Senior Tax Counsel for ExxonMobil Exploration and various tax-related positions with responsibilities supporting upstream operations and IRS controversy from June 1996 to March 2012. Joel Johnson is an alumnus of Harvard Law School.
