Stuart Smith

Stuart Smith is a highly experienced professional in the field of chemistry with a robust background in catalysis and research on sustainable fuels. Currently serving as a Senior Research Associate at ExxonMobil since April 2015, Stuart has led a team focused on producing high-performance carbon materials and optimizing sustainable aviation fuels and renewable diesel production. Prior to ExxonMobil, Stuart worked as a Senior Research Scientist at UOP, specializing in paraffin disproportionation and isomerization reactions. Earlier roles include postdoctoral positions at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Catalysis Research Laboratory (CaRLa), where collaboration with international teams led to significant advancements in catalyst development. Stuart holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.A. in Chemistry and Math from The College of St. Scholastica.
