Vijay Kumar

Vijay Kumar is an accomplished academic and industry leader with extensive experience in robotics and engineering. Currently serving as Dean at Penn Engineering since July 2015, Vijay Kumar is also the Co-Founder and Chief Science Advisor at Exyn Technologies, a position held since December 2014. Additional roles include Board Member at WeRobotics since July 2016 and former Assistant Director for Robotics and Cyber Physical Systems at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy from September 2012 to January 2014. Prior to these positions, Vijay Kumar was a Professor and Deputy Dean at the University of Pennsylvania from January 2000 to August 2004, and previously directed the GRASP Laboratory at Penn Engineering from 1998 to 2004. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Technology in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
