Eric Xiao

Eric Xiao is a senior partner at Ernst & Young Canada, having been with the firm since 1994, where they currently lead the Toronto Transaction Tax practice. With over 20 years of experience in taxation, Eric has played a pivotal role in numerous large M&A transactions and has contributed to corporate reorganizations and tax due diligence. They are a member of the Joint Committee on Taxation of the Canadian Bar Association and CPA Canada, as well as a frequent speaker at tax conferences. Eric has been actively involved in the community, serving as president of the Chinese Professionals Association of Canada since 2016 and previously as a council member of TRIEC. They were the first immigrant from China to achieve the partner level at EY Canada, exemplifying perseverance and success that inspires many immigrants.
