John Hallmark

John Hallmark is a Principal and Director in the Office of Public Policy at EY, where John has been employed since July 2011. As a subject matter expert in financial services regulation, Hallmark shapes EY's policy positions and engages with congressional offices and federal agencies to advocate for the firm's legislative interests. Prior to EY, Hallmark served as Managing Director of Federal Government Relations at the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) from November 2009 to June 2011, leading the implementation of advocacy strategies in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis. Hallmark's career began in the United States Senate as Legislative Staff from August 2003 to November 2009. Hallmark holds a Doctor of Law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, a Leadership Program certificate from Harvard Business School Executive Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Georgetown University.
