Koen Illeghems

Koen Illeghems is a bioengineer with a PhD in bioinformatics and currently serves as a Senior Manager at EY. They have previous experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Ghent University, where they guided a PhD project on genome sequencing and analysis of zoonotic species. Koen also worked at Vrije Universiteit Brussel as a PhD student focused on genomics and metagenomics in food fermentation ecosystems. Their earlier roles include being a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Arkansas and an R&D Specialist at Lantmännen Unibake.
