Matthew Walker

Matthew Walker is a seasoned Financial Services Risk Management Leader, currently serving as a Partner at EY, where they focus on areas such as credit risk, liquidity and market risk, and model validation. Previously, they held the role of Associate Director at Deloitte South Africa, leading a team of professionals in quantitative credit risk and managing the development of cloud-based managed services for clients across Africa. Matthew oversaw key projects, including the development and implementation of IFRS 9 models for a pan-African bank and the review of financial instruments under IFRS standards. They have contributed to the actuarial field through various presentations and publications while also mentoring upcoming professionals in the industry. Matthew holds a Fellowship from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and a Bachelor of Science Honours in Actuarial Science from the University of the Witwatersrand.
