Richard Johnston

Richard Johnston is a Partner in EY's International Tax and Transaction Services group, currently leading the UK tax desk across the Asia-Pacific region from Japan. With over 20 years of experience in international corporate taxation, Richard has specialized in advising multinational companies, particularly focusing on Japanese groups. Prior to joining EY in 2019, Richard held various positions at PwC, including International Tax Director, and has spent significant time in Japan, enhancing their expertise in cross-border tax activities. Richard earned a BA (Hons.) in Japanese and Management from Durham University and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) and a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA).
