Simon Gooch

Director, Business Transformation

Simon Gooch has extensive experience in strategic management and public administration, having held various leadership roles across multiple organizations. From October 2002 to August 2010, Simon served as Manager of Strategy and Planning at Accident Compensation Corporation, overseeing strategy development and performance reporting. Following this, Simon worked as Business Manager at the Department of Labour, focusing on operational strategy and change management. From November 2015 to June 2019, Simon was Director of Performance Management at the New Zealand Defence Force, and previously held a contract position as Channel Strategy Lead at the Ministry of Social Development in 2012. Simon’s academic credentials include a Postgraduate Certificate in Public Policy from Victoria University of Wellington, a Bachelor of Arts in Roman History from the University of Canterbury, a Masters in Public Administration from the Australia and New Zealand School of Government, and completion of the Senior Executive Fellows Programme at Harvard Kennedy School in 2018. Currently, Simon is a Board Member with The Hyphen Project, starting in April 2025.
