Declan Crew is an experienced software engineer with a strong background in machine learning and data science. Currently serving as Lead Software Engineer at Faculty since October 2025, Declan previously held the position of Lead Engineer at Vortexa from November 2021 to October 2025, where management of a team focused on machine learning models in NLP and geospatial domains was a key responsibility, along with overseeing back office tooling for data curation and quality assurance. Prior to this, Declan worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Dstl from September 2018 to November 2021 and as a Data Scientist at LIFECODE SOLUTIONS LTD from February 2017 to August 2018. Declan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Liverpool, earned from 2011 to 2015.
