Kim Klein has worked in a variety of roles in the past 13 years. Kim began their career in 2006 as a Research Assistant at SGS Institut Fresenius GmbH. In 2010, they moved on to become a Research Fellow at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. Most recently, in 2019, Kim Klein joined FAGUS-GRECON GRETEN GMBH & CO. KG as a Key-Account-Manager and Manager of Sales.

Kim Klein's education history includes a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology from The University of Göttingen, obtained between 2003 and 2006. Kim then went on to complete a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Wood Biology and Wood Technology from the same university between 2006 and 2010. During this time, they also completed an exchange semester at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in the Euroforester MSc programme. From 2012 to 2014, Kim Klein obtained a Betriebswirt (IWW) in Betriebsmanagement und -verwaltung from FernUniversität in Hagen. Kim also completed a research placement at Scion (Crown Research Institute) between 2014 and 2015. Finally, Kim Klein obtained a Dr. rer nat. in PhD Wood Biology & Wood Technology from The University of Göttingen between 2011 and 2019.
