Marcelo Cortes is the Co-Founder and CTO at Faire. Marcelo was previously a Staff Software Engineer at Square, where they built Square Cash from a prototype to a large scale product. Prior to that, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Google, where they helped integrate Hangouts into Google+ for Android and iOS, acted as Team Lead on Google+ for Android, and built the Google+ Messenger application for Android. Marcelo also designed and implemented mobile notifications in Google+, and worked on the web application for mobile Google+. Marcelo has also worked as a Senior Software Architect at Nikon Metrology, where they worked on large scale metrology systems, and as an Embedded Software Developer at Bell Canada. Marcelo is also a co-founder of FreePoint Inc.

Marcelo Cortes's educational career consists of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo and ETEP.
