Dane Merrick

Dane Merrick, CFA, is a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager and Analyst at Fairtree, where they manage and trade various funds, including the Fairtree ALBI Plus Prescient Fund and the Fairtree Global Flexible Income Plus Fund. Dane's career began as a Sub-Warden at Smuts Hall at the University of Cape Town before moving into finance roles such as Equity Trader at Fairtree Capital and Commodities Markets Trader at Futures First. They transitioned to Fairtree in 2017 as a Fixed Income Quantitative Analyst before taking on their current position in 2019. Dane holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with First Class Honours, both from the University of Cape Town. In October 2023, they received an AAA rating from Citywire South Africa, recognizing their exceptional performance as a fund manager.
