Max Phelps has extensive work experience in the publishing industry. Max started their career as a store manager at Encore Books in 1981. In 1987, they joined Koen Book Distributors and quickly rose to the position of VP Sales & Marketing. During this time, they managed customer service, telephone sales, field sales, and marketing departments. In 1997, Max became the Director of Sales & Marketing at Falcon Publishing, where they oversaw field sales, inside sales/customer service, marketing, and publicity. Max worked with key accounts such as Barnes & Noble, Borders, Ingram, and Costco, and developed a successful brand strategy for FalconGuides. In 2001, they joined National Book Network as the Director of Outdoor Sales, managing relationships with major accounts and developing a Special Sales Department.
