GW Wright has a long and varied work experience in the sports and entertainment industries. In 2012, they began their career as the Director of Sports Marketing at Beats by Dr. Dre. In 2015, they moved to Moment (Instigate Labs) as the Head of Sports Marketing and Partnerships. In 2016, they became a Senior Consultant, Sports Marketing at MeUndies. In 2017, they joined Magic Leap as an Experience Team member for Sports & Entertainment Partnership Activations. In 2020, they founded Locker Room Agency, a Sports and Entertainment Consultancy. Most recently, in 2021, they became a Strategic Advisor for Sports and Athletics at Fanbaseapp and an Advisory Council Member at MLK Community Health Foundation.

GW Wright attended Morehouse College from 1994 to 1998, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism.
