Joe Wright

Joe Wright has a strong background in software engineering and agile coaching. Joe is currently working as a Principal Software Engineer at FanDuel, where they lead the Engineering Productivity team and focuses on improving engineer productivity through training and tooling. Prior to this role, Joe worked at Registers of Scotland as an Agile Development Coach, where they helped improve technical practices and delivery capabilities across multiple teams. Joe also worked as a Lean/XP Coach at HexagonalWorks Limited and as a Technical Lead at BJSS, where they contributed to projects involving criminal identification and protection of vulnerable individuals. Furthermore, Joe has experience as a Tech Lead at Arnold Clark, where they introduced mob programming and microservices to handle a monolithic legacy codebase. Joe also served as a Lead Consultant at ThoughtWorks, where they replaced a monolithic application with a Microservices platform. Throughout their career, Joe has been involved in various agile coaching roles, including positions at The Scottish Government, Distill Works, Calba, and emergn. Joe is skilled in improving development teams, offering technical training, and implementing lean and agile practices.

Joe Wright obtained a Bsc (Hons) degree in Computing Science from the University of Aberdeen, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Joe later pursued an Msc in eCommerce at the same university from 2004 to 2005. Additionally, Joe obtained certifications in Amazon Web Services, including the Solutions Architect Associate and Cloud Practitioner, in the year 2021.
