Simone Appenzeller

Dr. Simone Appenzeller is a Full Professor of Rheumatology at the School of Medical Science at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas and serves as a researcher level 1B at CNPq. They graduated in medicine in 1999, completed a rheumatology residency in 2003, and earned a PhD in Internal Medicine in 2006 from Unicamp. Dr. Appenzeller also held post-doctoral research fellowships at McGill University, Canada, and Stavanger Hospital, Norway, and they are currently the Associate Undergraduate Coordinator of the Medical course at Unicamp. Their research focuses on neuropsychiatric manifestations in rheumatological autoimmune diseases and their impact on patients' quality of life, and they serve as an editor for multiple scientific journals.
