Vilson Almeida

Vilson Almeida is an accomplished academic and researcher in the fields of Engineering and Computing. They currently serve as the Area Manager at FAPESP and are a tenured professor in Biomedical Engineering at Universidade Brasil, as well as a collaborator at the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA). Almeida has previously held significant leadership roles, including Director of Institutional Cooperation at CNPq and Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies (IEAv). With a Ph.D. from Cornell University, they are recognized internationally for their research in Photonics, ranking among the top 2-percent most influential scientists worldwide.
