Far From is a new platform for meaningful, skill-based travel.
Far From Routine.
Far From The Ordinary.
Far From Boring!

We connect skilled, curious travellers with hosts offering premium accommodation in exchange for help on creative or practical projects. Whether it’s helping to restore a French chateau, care for animals on a country estate, or support a passion project in a seaside B&B, Far From creates high-trust, mutually enriching placements that go far beyond the traditional work-exchange model.

We’re building a curated, career-friendly platform which puts trust, transparency, and user experience first. Hosts are vetted, every placement structured, and every review is honest and timely. No dorms. No backpacker burnout. Just real people, incredible places, and meaningful exchanges.

Our platform is designed for professionals on sabbatical, early retirees, and value-driven travellers seeking something different: the chance to explore the world while contributing skills and energy where they’re truly appreciated. At the same time, we help hosts reclaim time and make progress on projects they care about, without hiring trades or managing volunteers through clunky systems.

If you’re dreaming of a career break with purpose (or you have a space and project that could benefit from brilliant people) we’d love to hear from you. Follow us to stay in the loop.
