Farallon Design Studio is dedicated to transforming public spaces into cultural landmarks through mosaic murals, architectural art glass, and sculptural installations. For over two decades, our studio has combined expert craftsmanship with community participation, resulting in highly durable works of art that not only beautify but also strengthen the identity of the places they inhabit.
Our projects span from large-scale city commissions to intimate healing spaces. We’ve designed interactive sculptures, stained glass installations, and monumental mosaic murals — including the nation’s largest community-driven mosaic project along the Feather River in Oroville, CA. Our work has also supported rebuilding efforts in Paradise after the Camp Fire, beautified schools across California, and brought therapeutic art to hospitals such as Kaiser Permanente and Rady Children’s Hospital.
Collaboration is at the heart of our practice. We partner with architects, engineers, and municipalities to seamlessly integrate art into the built environment. Our long-standing relationships with city governments, county offices of education, cultural organizations, and foundations reflect our commitment to projects that carry both artistic and social value.
Farallon is also the parent company of the Rainforest Art Project, our educational and community outreach branch. Through Rainforest, we engage thousands of students, educators, and volunteers each year in the creation of permanent public artworks. These programs ignite creativity, build confidence, and leave a legacy of beauty in schools and neighborhoods.
Recognized with awards such as the Champion for the Arts Award and the People’s Choice Orchid Award, and featured in press outlets from NBC San Diego to the Chico Enterprise Record, our work continues to grow across California and beyond.
At Farallon Design Studio, we believe public art is more than decoration — it is a catalyst for connection, resilience, and cultural pride.
