Chip Schmalz

Chip Schmalz is the Director of Talent Acquisition & Development at Farmer Mac. Chip has over eight years of experience in talent management and organizational development.

Chip began their career as a Sales Trainer at Micro Focus. Chip then transitioned into the role of Senior Manager, Learning and Organizational Development at DLT Solutions. In this role, they were responsible for designing and delivering training programs that aligned with the business goals of the company. Chip also partnered with the Tech Data Global DEI team to initiate the DEI Council at DLT location and establish education and awareness programs.

In January 2020, Chip became the Senior Manager, Talent Management at Tech Data. In this role, they partnered with business leaders and HRBPs to execute global talent management programs and strategy in support of business objectives. Chip was also the Project Lead to develop the Global Success Profile framework to generate role specific high performing competency models across business.

In December 2021, Chip transitioned into their current role as the Director, Talent Acquisition & Development at Farmer Mac. In this role, they are responsible for leading the talent acquisition function and developing programs to attract, hire, and retain top talent. Chip is also responsible for leading the company's learning and development initiatives.

Chip Schmalz has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Colorado State University, a Masters in Education from West Virginia University, and a BA in Chip'story from Marshall University. Chip also has a Certificate in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration from George Mason University. In addition, Chip has certification from DDI | Development Dimensions International in DDI Facilitator Certification, certification from the University of Virginia in Graduate Certificate Human Resources Leadership, certification from SHRM in Veterans at Work Certificate, certification from Wiley in Everything DiSC Certified, and certification from SHRM in SHRM-SCP.
