Peter Downard

Peter Downard is a Litigation Partner at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP, where they provide litigation counsel in trials, mediations, arbitrations, and advisory matters. They are a recognized authority in defamation and media law and authored significant legal texts, including the book "Libel." They served as a member of the Advisory Panel to the Attorney General of Ontario on Strategic Litigation Against Public Participation, with their recommendations contributing to the Ontario Protection of Public Participation Act. With extensive experience in public inquiries and numerous speaking engagements, Peter has established themselves as a leading practitioner in their field.
