Rob Wood

Rob Wood is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Contract Counsel at Fasken Martineau LLP since June 2018. Previously, Rob held the position of General Counsel at Obsidian Energy Ltd. for a brief period in 2017 following a name change from Penn West, where Rob worked from February 2010 to 2017 in various roles including General Counsel, Interim General Counsel, Manager of Legal, and Senior Counsel. Prior to that, Rob practiced law at Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP from October 2000 to February 2010. Rob holds a Certified In-House Counsel - Canada designation from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and an LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick, along with a B.A. in Chemistry from Queen's University.
