Derrick Lindsay

Derrick Lindsay has a diverse work experience in product design and user experience (UX) design. Derrick is currently working at Fastly as a Senior Product Designer, where they are responsible for the security product experience. Derrick conducts user research and interviews and collaborates with Product Managers to establish visions and guide product feature direction.

Prior to Fastly, Derrick worked at Signal Sciences as a Sr. Product Designer and at TrueCar, Inc. as a Sr. UX Designer. In these roles, they focused on designing user experiences for specific areas such as trade/sell and partnerships. Derrick closely worked with Product Owner/Managers to solve current experience issues, support new initiatives, and maintain team velocity.

Before TrueCar, Inc., Derrick worked at Corvium as a Product Designer, where they conducted user research, gathered requirements, and rapidly prototyped ideas. Derrick also created wireframes and interactive mockups to better understand complex features and user flows, leading to a clean and focused final user interface.

At SynerMed, Derrick served as a UI/UX Designer and implemented modern design standards and practices for web applications. Derrick provided detailed style guides and delivered fast and accurate interactive mockup experiences, reducing iterations and streamlining the vision for new products.

Earlier in their career, Derrick worked at Pentuple as a Creative Lead, where they were responsible for the full range of design responsibilities. Derrick also provided creative direction for the company and its clients. Derrick started their career as a Design Intern at Prairie View A&M University, where they created sports guides and marketing materials for various sports teams.

Derrick also has experience outside of the design field, having worked as a Purchasing/Expediting Specialist at Bechtel for a brief period.

Derrick Lindsay attended Prairie View A&M University from 2003 to 2009, focusing on Mechanical Engineering. Derrick then pursued further education at Joanne Baron/D.W. Brown Studio, where they enrolled in the Meisner Based Acting program from 2010 to 2012, specializing in the Meisner Technique.
