Guy Brown

Guy Brown has extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Guy is currently working as a Senior Security Strategist at Fastly since August 2022. Prior to that, they worked at VMware as a Specialist Solutions Engineer, specializing in Networking & Security from January 2022 to August 2022.

Before that, they had a significant tenure at F5 Networks, where they held multiple roles including Senior Sales Engineer for F5 Silverline and Distributed Cloud APAC from February 2020 to January 2022, Senior Partner Presales Engineer (ANZ) from July 2018 to February 2020, and (Presales) Field Systems Engineer, focusing on the banking and finance sector from September 2015 to June 2018.

Guy also has experience working at Check Point Software Technologies as a (Presales) Security Engineer for the Telco Industry from November 2014 to September 2015.

In addition, they worked at Websense as Senior Sales Engineer for enterprise and government clients from September 2010 to October 2014. At Websense, their responsibilities included understanding client requirements and providing technical solutions in the areas of web security, email security, and data loss prevention.

Before that, Guy worked at Symantec as a Pre-Sales Systems Engineer, focusing on security solutions for Federal Government accounts from September 2007 to September 2010.

Guy'scareer began at Data#3 where they worked as a Consultant ICT Services. During their time there, they were involved in security projects, including deployments of Checkpoint Firewall and Cisco ASA, as well as Symantec security solutions. Guy also conducted vulnerability assessments and security reviews for government and multi-national clients.

Prior to Data#3, Guy worked at Optus/Source Integrated Networks as a Solutions Architect/Senior Technical Consultant, designing security-based solutions for Optus Managed Service customers.

Guy'searly experience includes working at MUA Pty Ltd as a Senior Technical Consultant and Team Leader, where they were responsible for recruiting and managing staff, as well as resolving customer issues.

Guy Brown received their Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Computing from Southern Cross University, where they studied from 1990 to 1993. Additionally, they obtained certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner in January 2018, F5 Certified Technology Specialist, BIG-IP DNS in September 2017, F5 Certified Administrator, BIG-IP in September 2016, and CISSP from ISC2 in September 2005.
