Joe Reed

Joe Reed has a strong background in software engineering, with experience at various companies. 🐣 Joe currently serves as a Senior Software Engineer at Fastly, where they have successfully led efforts to increase adoption of design tokens and contributed to projects using React, Gatsby, Styled Components, and more. Prior to Fastly, Joe worked as a Software Engineer at Moneyhub Enterprise, where they played a key role in delivering features such as the user dashboard and payments using React, Redux, and Styled Components. Before that, they served as a Front End Developer at Our Name is Mud Ltd, delivering projects to SME clients with a focus on performance and web animation using technologies like React, Tailwind, GSAP, and CraftCMS. Joe also gained valuable experience at BBC News, where they performed major rewrites to improve performance and accessibility of critical components, worked on interactive web content for high-profile news items, and delivered self-contained interactive web apps.

Joe Reed completed a web development program at Thinkful in 2016. Prior to that, from 2010 to 2014, they attended Goldsmiths, University of London, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Popular Music (BMus). In May 2019, Joe also obtained a certification in GraphQL Essential Training from LinkedIn.
