Simran Khalsa

Staff Security Researcher at Fastly

Simran Khalsa has a diverse work experience in the field of security and engineering. In 2010, they started working as a System Engineer at BlueLink IT Solutions, where they were involved in resolving server, network, and system issues, implementing and monitoring data centers and cloud environments, and conducting security penetration testing. From 2013 to 2018, they served as a Software Engineer at Keep up Technologies. In 2015, they held the position of Board of Directors at Yogi Tea. They joined Los Alamos National Laboratory in 2015 as a Cybersecurity Technical Staff II, where they developed custom security applications, leading to the team receiving the Distinguished Performance Award. In 2018, they joined Procore Technologies as a Senior Security Engineer and worked there until 2020. From July to October 2020, Simran worked as a Senior Security Engineer at Signal Sciences. Currently, since October 2020, they hold the position of Staff Security Researcher at Fastly.

Simran Khalsa's education history includes attending The University of New Mexico from 2004 to 2005. During this time, they studied Business Administration and Management, General, although no degree was obtained. Following their time at The University of New Mexico, Simran Khalsa attended Northern New Mexico College, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Information Engineering Technology.

In addition to their formal education, Simran Khalsa has obtained certifications from the GIAC Certifications institution. In October 2018, they earned the GIAC Advisory Board certification and the GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT) certification.
