Tom Baran

Tom Baran has a long history of work experience in the field of signal processing. Tom began their career as a Summer Intern at HP Labs in 2008, then moved on to a Summer Intern role at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in 2009. In 2012, they worked as a Signal Processing Architect for SoundFest Inc, and also as a Research Affiliate for MIT Digital Signal Processing Group. In 2013, they became a Signal Processing Consultant for ADI Lyric Labs. Finally, in 2015, they co-founded Fathom Optics, where they currently serve as the CEO.

Tom Baran received their B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering from Tufts University in 2004. Tom then went on to pursue a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which they completed in 2012.
