FCLL is a non-profit organization. We partner with large-scale public education systems to create, for children and adults, learning environments grounded in safety, care, inquiry and mutual support.

FCLL is dedicated to deepening children’s learning in public education systems, creating opportunities for them to use their heads, hearts and hands in age-appropriate activities, connect their books to their homes, communities and the world, assess critically their learning materials, thus investing their learning with far greater personal meaning.

To enable this, our programmes equip state decision-makers to become transformational leaders in children’s learning. They learn to connect policy to practice, motivate teams, involve parents and communities, and redefine themselves as mission-driven leaders. By fostering shared purpose, resources, and commitment across hierarchies, we build long-term systemic sustainability— ensuring that meaningful learning and policy goals are realized.

To make this learning possible at the large scales required, we have developed scaling technologies that enroll public functionaries extensively in the capacity-sharpening effort. These processes help build greater involvement, communication and cohesion across hierarchical levels, create a sense of agency at all levels, allow contextual wisdom of public functionaries to inform the learning processes and, as a result, lead to a relatively rapid build-up of capacity across the organisation.
