Maggie Chen is a machine learning researcher at the Frontier Development Lab, where they are developing algorithms to detect methane emissions from space, in collaboration with the European Space Agency. They completed a PhD in particle physics at the University of Oxford, specializing in machine learning algorithms for particle identification and Higgs boson searches within the ATLAS collaboration at CERN, where they contributed to the search for triple Higgs boson production. For their work, they received the Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics in 2025 as part of the ATLAS collaboration. Maggie also has experience as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at UCL and a Volunteer Translator for TED Conferences.
